Medal Winners of Inter University Taikewando Karate Championships Call upon the Vice Chancellor

Sports reflect gusto for life. They are an excellent tonic not only for physical health but are also extremely propitious to the development of mind and intellect. Firstly sports add to the qualities of struggle and competition. They develop innovation by initiating new moves and techniques in the game. They develop originality individuality through the formation of independent style. Sports and games also develop moral traits like cooperation and altruism when players work for their team and institutions. They develop critical skills and power of analysis when the play is evaluated. They develop sportsman spirit by playing fair and accepting defeat with grace. I congratulate all of you for winning medals in Taikowando and Karate Championships. I am proud of you because you have upheld the name of your alma mater i.e UOG. These views were expressed by Vice Chancellor University of Gujrat (UOG) Prof Dr Mohammad Nizamuddin in the committee room of UOG, in a meeting with a batch of sportsmen who called upon him, under the leadership of chairman Sports Board Mohammad Mushtaq Bhatti after bagging medals in Inter University Taikewando and Karate Championship.

 Team manager Deputy Director Sports Mr Akhlaq Ahmad Khan apprised the VC of their teams’ outstating achievements. In Taikowando 60kg category Mr Umer Farooq of BBA 4th semester won a bronze medal, whereas in Karate Championship Ihtisham Afazal of BBA 4th semester won silver medal in 50kg category. Similarly in 60kg category Mr Umer Farooq and in 70kg category Mr Zeeshan Akhtar won bronze medals.
Mr Mohammad Akram Bhatti Registrar UOG was also present on the occasion and congratulated the medal winners and sports officials.  The Vice Chancellor directed sports officer Nasira Perveen, Sobia Nazeer and Ghulam Fiza to hold sports competition among female students. The winning team was favoured with a photograph with the Vice Chancellor.
