Gujrat: The Govt. of the Punjab have allocated Rs. 10 billion for PEEF scholarship funds; out of which Rs. 8 billion have already been delivered, to PEEF. We are regularly dispensing scholarships worth Rs. 12 million, on the basis of merit to more than 30 thousand students. In the University of Gujrat (UOG) alone, 263 students are being dispensed scholarships worth 20 million rupees. I am pretty confident that that this service of ours shall bear fruits of creativity, innovation and research. I feel a pleasant, freshness, vibrancy and gusto in the ambience of UOG. This creation of the intellectual environment is the greatest contribution of the charismatic leadership of the University. These ideas were expressed by PEEF Vice Chairman Dr Mohammad Amjad Saqib as Chief Guest in a ceremony of distribution of cheques to more than 70 students. Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Nizamuddin in his address to the house recalled that UOG is at all times concerned about the welfare of talented but poor students. We have dispensed 11 million rupees among the deserving this year. We are establishing an Endowment Fund of Rs. 60 million, to support national talent constrained by financial resources. We are working on a humanitarian paradigm of financially  supporting each and every deserving student, so that financial constrains do not inhibit talent in burgeoning into intelligence and creativity. He thanked the Chief Guest and expressed his hope of PEEFs continued financial support to the scholars of this university.  The event was organized by the Student Services Center (SSC) and on its behalf its director Ms. Aneesa Rahat also thanked the guests. Khawar Haneef and Zakria Kanwal on behalf of scholarship winners extolled the vision of Chief Minister Mr. Shahbaz Shareef who is the true architect of this visionary scheme of funding the needy intellectuals.
